This past fall I donated several drawings and an artist book I made on Roy C. Nuse to the Michener Art Museum for better preservation and accessibility to the public. Here are some photos of the pieces I donated.

Bucks County Landscapes from the Permanent Collection featuring "Age of Speed"
The Michener Museum now has two paintings of Roy C. Nuse hanging on its walls: "Peace of Mind" (see 7/19/17 post), a portrait featuring Nuse's neighbor Blevins, is in their special exhibit “Dedicated, Displayed, Discovered – Celebrating the Region’s School Art Collections;” and adjacent to this is a permanent exhibit of Bucks County Landscape featuring RCN's master work, "Age of Speed."
I was able to go to the museum last week to see the paintings hanging on the walls, and was pleased with how they were being displayed. "Peace of Mind" is prominently featured in the exhibit and in press about the show, and "Age of Speed" is in the center of a group of paintings on the main wall.

Adrienne Romano, the Michener's Director of Interpretation & Innovation, told me that they like to show school tour groups "Age of Speed" and ask the students what they think the children are playing with (not ipads!). I told her that my father, Paul Nuse is sitting on the wheelbarrow, his brother Ollie is holding the stick. The other two boys are his cousins Phil and John Maddux and the little girl holding the kitten is my Aunt Dorothy (next down from Ollie). It was painted in 1920 when the two families lived on the same farm in Pipersville, Bucks County.
If you are in the Philadelphia area, I encourage you to visit the Michener Art Museum and see these two wonderful exhibits.
"Peace of Mind" is on exhibit from July 8, 2017 - January 7, 2018 and "Age of Speed" is displayed in their permanent exhibit of Bucks County Landscape.
